Mustang Tour By Jeep

• Arrival at the airport according to your flight schedule and transfer to the hotel (Kathmandu Prince Hotel or equivalent).
•  Introduction, trek briefing with the guide. 
• Lunch and dinner at your leisure. 
• Overnight at the hotel.

• Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a guided tour with a cultural guide in the Kathmandu Valley (from 9 am to 4 pm): Pashupatinath, Patan, and Bodnath. 
• Transportation and guide service included. 
• Site entrance fees to be paid on-site.
•  Meanwhile, we handle formalities and the trek permit for Mustang.
•  Lunch and dinner on your own. 
• Overnight at the hotel.

• Early departure, accompanied by your guide on a tourist bus to Pokhara, a recreational city with its large Phewa Lake surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. 
• Free lunch during the bus break.
•  Arrival around 3 pm and check-in at Kotee Home Hotel with its superb view of the lake and mountains from the rooftop terrace.
•  Local specialty: grilled fish caught in the lake.
•  Lunch and dinner on your own.
•  Overnight at the hotel.

• Start of the jeep circuit, full board in the lodge. 
• After breakfast, private jeep departure to Lete with your guide.
•  Check-in at the lodge in Lete.
•  6 hours of road, the journey concludes on the track.
•  No walking. 

Tip: The Kali Gandaki Valley is windy, advisable to bring a scarf to protect against wind and dust.

• Continuation by track to Tukuche, where the river is crossed. 
• Continue on the track to reach the Tibetan refugee camp. 
• Visit the camp, continue to Marpha, a charming and large Thakali village.
•  Numerous apple orchards surround the village, allowing the production of delicious cider that you can taste. 
• Stroll and visit the Marpha monastery, with apple-based specialties.
•  3 hours and 30 minutes of road.

• Ascent to the village of Thini, a small village with a beautiful view of Nilgiri, followed by a jeep ride to Muktinath at 3880 m. 
• Muktinath is a sacred place, one of the most important Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage centers. 
• Sacred water springs from the 108 cavities surrounding the Vishnu temple in a poplar grove.
•  It is also the residence of several Tibetan ethnic groups who come here for the temple with a sacred fire.
•  Descend to Kagbeni, at the gateway to the Kingdom of Mustang. 
• 4 hours of road, walks in the visited villages.

• Departure by jeep to Chaile, a charming typical village in Upper Mustang. 
• On the western bank of the river, you can see the Kang Gompa and some caves. 
• Night in a lodge.

• Drive to Gheling. Adorable small scattered settlement, walk in the village and its surroundings.
•  If possible to visit, there is the old monastery. 
• 1 hour and 30 minutes of road.

• Drive to Tsarang via Dakmar. Desert-like scenery where we can admire the red rocks overlooking the valley towards Dhakmar. Legend has it that Padma Sambava (Guru Rimpoche), having defeated a demon in a bloody battle, splattered the rugged cliffs (traces of the struggle), giving these cliffs their red color.
•  Like in all Mustang villages, most houses are built with mud and stones, with roofs made of twigs, straw, and a mixture of mud and rocks, usually painted in white or ochre colors. 
• Check-in at Tsarang, a village on a beautiful Himalayan plateau. 
• Possibility to discover the monastery built on the mountainside, featuring beautiful wall paintings inside. 
• 3 hours of road.

• About 1 hour's drive in the prayer plain and its chortens to reach the mythical city of Lo Manthang, dominated by the ancient fort from where Tibet can be seen in the background. 
• Visit and exploration of Lo Manthang, the royal city: the four-story palace, the interior of the ramparts that surround the city with intertwined dwellings forming labyrinthine alleys, several monasteries (including two from the 15th century), the current king's palace, and some chortens.
•  The 1200 inhabitants of the capital have lived to the rhythm of the seasons for several generations.
•  You find yourself immersed in the heart of the Middle Ages.
•  In addition to the royal palace, there are 4 large temples to visit inside the city walls: the Champas Lakhang built around 1420, the red Thugchen monastery built at the same time and supported by large wooden pillars, and two other less important temples located in the religious district.
•  Despite its dirty appearance, Lo Manthang is a prosperous city and is home to a very close-knit Tibetan community: the Lobas. 
• Before trade was interrupted with Tibet, all salt and wool caravans passed through Lo Manthang. Today, wealth is measured more in terms of land and horses.

• Day to explore the villages of Nyiphu, Garphu, and Jhong village by jeep. 
• Villages located on the road to Lhasa. 
• Return to Lo Manthang for the night.

• Possibility to take the excursion (by jeep) to go to Chhoser to see the ancient caves, an archaeological mystery even today. 
• Return to Lo Manthang for the night.

Return to Chaile, about 4 hours of road

• Drive to Tukuche, leaving Upper Mustang to descend to Thakali country in Lower Mustang. 
• About 4 hours of road.

• End of the jeep circuit.
•  Return to Pokhara by jeep, about 6 hours and 30 minutes of road (the road is quite tiring). 
• Arrival in Pokhara in the afternoon. 
• Check-in at the same hotel as on the outbound journey and rest. 
• Free dinner in the evening in Pokhara.

• After breakfast, departure by tourist bus to Kathmandu. 5 to 6 hours of road depending on traffic. Lunch break (free).
•  Dinner in the evening (free), overnight at the hotel (same hotel as at the start).

• Free day. Lunch and dinner on your own, overnight at the hotel. 
• This day can serve as a reserve day in case there has been a delay in the program
